Czech chocolate
Czech chocolate
Czech chocolate has a long and turbulent history.
Few people know that the word chocolate originates from the Aztec word xocolātl, which meant bitter drink. Few also know that for a long time, chocolate was known only as a beverage.
In recent years, more and more small chocolate producers have been appearing in the Czech Republic, focusing on high-quality ingredients and handmade production. These producers often experiment with non-traditional ingredients, offering unique flavors.
The best Czech chocolate
Since 2017, Míšina čokoláda has already won more than 50 awards at prestigious international competitions, including several gold medals. It is the only Czech chocolate in the entire history of the world's most prestigious gourmet competition, the Great Taste Awards in England, to have received the highest award – three stars.
Three stars are awarded each year to less than 2% of all entered products. This award was won by the Sametová chocolate.
Míšina čokoláda has won the gold medal three times at the prestigious world competition, the Academy of Chocolate Awards in London. We are the only Czech chocolate maker to have won a gold medal in the entire history of this competition.
Our chocolates win international awards repeatedly every year. We are glad that, thanks to our contribution, Czech chocolate is once again being put on the world map.
